Deutsches Weintor and Niederkirchener Weinmacher (Germany), two premium wine cooperatives complete merger
Deutsches Weintor eG und Niederkirchener Weinmacher eG both stand for premium wines with national distribution in Germany and International markets, such as USA (Brand: Blue Fish® original Riesling, imported by Palm Bay International, Miami/New York). The shareholding members of both companies have voted positive on the intended integration.
“This step is the best interest of our members/ growers“, says Marian Kopp, the former Managing Director/Executive Board member of Niederkirchener Weinmacher. Jürgen C. Grallath, Executive Board member of Deutsches Weintor adds: „our aim was to increase the profits of our shareholders/members and to secure the long term income and value of both companies.“ Both companies respect this move as an early adaption towards a changing wine market: „Increased competition and higher quality expectations have to be addressed with larger units in production, sales and marketing“, Jürgen C. Grallath and Marian Kopp jointly state.
The merged company has its head offices in Ilbesheim/Pfalz. The portfolio consists of the well known and respected wines by “Deutsches Weintor” as well as of the portfolio “Die Weinmacher, Niederkirchen“.
Combined turnover is estimated Euro 35 Million, based on 2011 figures and will make the company the largest wine cooperative by vineyard-size and turnover in the Palatinate.
The executive board consists of Jürgen C. Grallath, Frank Jentzer and Marian Kopp.
